Send to bank: from your stablecoin balance to any bank account

A stablecoin balance is useful for moving money quickly, but rent, salaries and supplier invoices are still paid in euros and dollars. Send to bank is the xChange.bg payout: it takes money from your USDC balance and delivers it to a bank account as EUR or USD.

What send to bank is

It is an off-ramp: the step from stablecoins back to bank money. You pick the currency the recipient should get, enter their bank details and confirm. The conversion from your balance happens inside the payout, so there is nothing to sell or exchange first.

The recipient can be:

  • You. Your own account at a Bulgarian or other bank, in EUR or USD.
  • A supplier or partner. Pay an invoice in the currency on the invoice.
  • A contractor or teammate. Pay fees in EUR or USD to their bank.

Euro payouts go out on SEPA, the euro area's payment network. Dollar payouts go out by ACH or wire. Fiat services, including payouts, are provided by Bridge, a Stripe company and xChange.bg's licensed partner.

Who it is for

  • People holding USDC who want euros in their own Bulgarian bank account. See cashing out crypto to a Bulgarian bank.
  • Freelancers paid in dollars who convert only what they need each month.
  • Companies paying suppliers and contractors in EUR or USD from a stablecoin balance. See a company paying contractors abroad.
  • Online sellers who collect in one currency and pay costs in another.

How it works

  1. Start a payout. Choose Send, then pick EUR or USD as the currency the recipient receives.
  2. Enter the bank details. For euros, the IBAN and the name of the account holder. For dollars, the US account details the recipient gives you. The IBAN checker catches typing mistakes in an IBAN before you send.
  3. Review before you confirm. The app shows the amount, the 1.25% fee and what the recipient receives. If anything looks wrong, go back and correct it before you confirm, because this is the last point where changing the payout is simple.
  4. Confirm. The payout is funded from your USDC balance.
  5. Keep the record. The payout appears in your statements and exports. If you sold stablecoins for euros, keep the record next to the history of how you got them.

Examples.

  • You pay out 1,000 USDC to your own bank in euros. The fee is 12.50 USDC, and the remaining 987.50 USDC is converted to euros at the rate shown before you confirm.
  • You pay a supplier's invoice of EUR 4,000. The fee is EUR 50.
  • You send EUR 100. 1.25% would be EUR 1.25, so the minimum fee of EUR 2 applies.

Every fee is listed on the pricing page.

What to know before you use it

  • Check the details twice. A payout to a wrong account is hard to recover once it leaves. Compare the IBAN or account number with the invoice, and confirm new or changed bank details with the recipient by phone. Changed bank details in an email are a common sign of invoice fraud.
  • Timing depends on the route. Most routes arrive the same day, but the receiving bank and payment network decide the exact moment. Plan ahead for salary dates and invoice due dates.
  • Euro to euro inside SEPA is already cheap at many banks. If your money is in euros in a Bulgarian bank and the recipient has a euro account in the EU, your own bank may do the job well. Send to bank makes most sense when your money is already in stablecoins or when dollars are involved.
  • Exchange rates. If you pay out euros from USDC, the result depends on the EUR/USD rate at that moment. The app shows it before you confirm.
  • Tax. Selling stablecoins for euros is a sale of a crypto-asset under Bulgarian tax law and belongs in your annual records. Read the crypto tax guide. This is not tax advice.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to send money from xChange.bg to a bank?

The payout fee is 1.25% of the amount, with a minimum of EUR 2. On a payout of EUR 1,000 that is EUR 12.50. The fee and the amount are shown before you confirm, and there is no monthly fee on the account.

Can I pay someone else, not only my own account?

Yes. You can pay out to your own bank account or to a supplier, contractor or partner. Enter their bank details in EUR or USD, check them, and the money goes out on the payment network that currency uses.

How long does a payout take?

Most payout routes arrive the same day. The exact moment depends on the payment network and on the receiving bank, so plan a little margin before a payment deadline, especially near weekends and bank holidays.

Do I need to convert USDC to euros first?

No. You choose the currency the recipient gets. The conversion from your USDC balance happens as part of the payout, and the app shows the rate, the fee and the final amount before you confirm.

Can I cancel a payout after I confirm it?

Treat a confirmed payout as final. Bank transfers that have left are hard to bring back and depend on the recipient's bank. Check the IBAN or account number and the recipient's name carefully before you send.

Does the recipient need an xChange.bg account?

No. A payout is an ordinary bank transfer for the recipient. If they do have an xChange.bg account, you can send them stablecoins instead, which is free and instant between xChange.bg clients.

Will my accountant get a document for the payout?

Yes. Payouts appear in your statements and exports, which you can hand to your accountant. For sales of crypto-assets, keep these records together with the history of how you got the stablecoins.
