Is xChange.bg a bank?
No. xChange.bg is a financial technology platform. Payment and e-money services are provided by licensed partners, euro rails via an EU-licensed e-money institution, USD rails via a US-chartered bank. Incoming money is converted automatically to USDC, the fully-reserved digital dollar issued by Circle. Balances are stablecoins, not bank deposits.
How do I pay a supplier or a freelancer?
You choose what they receive. USDC reaches any wallet in seconds for a network fee of cents. Bank money goes out on the rail your recipient uses. SEPA, ACH, Wire, Faster Payments, SPEI or PIX, funded from your USDC balance at 1.25%, most routes same day.
Who can open an account?
Individuals and companies resident in the EU/EEA. Onboarding is fully online: identity verification for individuals, business verification for companies. Most personal accounts open in minutes; business accounts typically within 1-3 days.
Where is my money held?
In a wallet only you control, we hold no keys and cannot freeze your balance. The fiat edge runs through licensed partners; your USDC stays yours, and you can send it on-chain or withdraw to your bank whenever you choose.
Do I need a foreign company to get USD account details?
No. You operate with your existing Bulgarian company or as an individual. The EUR IBAN and US account details are opened in your own name, platforms and clients abroad pay you directly.
How long does opening an account take?
Onboarding is fully digital. Personal accounts typically open in minutes; business accounts within about a day, depending on the compliance review.
What documents does a company need?
Company registration details, identification of directors and owners, and basic information about what the business does. All submitted online during signup.
Can any business sign up?
Onboarding is subject to verification and sanctions screening. Sanctioned jurisdictions and high-risk activities, unlicensed gambling, shell companies, weapons and similar, cannot be onboarded.
