Compare side by side

Altcoins.bg is a Varna-based crypto platform that says it started in 2017 and that, since July 2026, holds a MiCA licence issued in Bulgaria. This review covers what the company publishes about itself and what the regulator's records show, checked on 16 September 2026. It does not rate the service; it sets out the facts so you can decide.

Company and ownership

The licence holder is Altcoins BG EOOD, UIC 205491943, a single-member limited company with its registered seat at 81 Vladislav Varnenchik Blvd, floor 1, office 1, Varna (source 1). Its anti-money-laundering policy says the company was previously named Lendix EOOD (source 7). The platform describes itself as a Bulgarian online service for buying, selling and exchanging crypto-assets for euro, created in 2017 and running 24/7 (source 6).

Licence and register entries

The Financial Supervision Commission (FSC) granted the licence by decision No. 499-ДУКА of 21 July 2026, on an application filed on 12 February 2026 (source 1). The session record for that day lists the decision (source 4). The licence covers four MiCA services:

  • custody and administration of crypto-assets on behalf of clients;
  • exchange of crypto-assets for funds;
  • exchange of crypto-assets for other crypto-assets;
  • transfer services for crypto-assets on behalf of clients.

Altcoins BG EOOD appears in the FSC register of licensed crypto-asset service providers (source 2) and in ESMA's interim MiCA register under LEI 984500FBAE2EDEF1C317, authorised on 21 July 2026 (source 3). In the ESMA file last modified on 9 September 2026, the field for cross-border services listed only Bulgaria, so no services in other member states had been recorded by then.

The website shows the licence as No. 002-ДУКА/21.07.2026 (source 5). The FSC document is decision No. 499-ДУКА of the same date. Both refer to the same authorisation: one is the decision number, the other the number shown by the company.

How buying and selling works

You register, verify your identity and place an order. The buy menu lists four ways to pay: EUR bank transfer, EasyPay, Cashterminal cash terminals and payment at the Varna office (source 9). The platform overview also mentions IRIS Pay, a pay-by-bank service (source 6). Payments must come from a bank or payment account in your own name; third-party payments are refused unless agreed after source-of-funds checks (source 8, clauses 6.5 and 11.1).

A single order is capped at EUR 2,500 to EUR 15,000 depending on the payment method. Larger amounts go through several orders or the OTC desk (source 9). The minimum order and other limits depend on the asset, payment method and verification level and are shown inside the platform (source 8, clause 7.4). A source-of-funds declaration is required at EUR 15,338.76 of turnover, possibly earlier (source 12).

When you sell, the payout goes by EUR bank transfer on the same business day during bank hours, or by EasyPay or ePay within 15 minutes (source 9). Payouts and refunds go only to an account in your name (source 8, clause 11.1). Crypto withdrawals can go to any valid address (source 9).

The markets page listed 111 assets on 16 September 2026, with USDC as the quote currency for crypto-to-crypto pairs. USDT and EURC were not listed (source 10).

Fees as published

Altcoins.bg says its commission is built into the price shown on the site and that there are no hidden fees (source 9). Costs that depend on the payment method are shown before you confirm an order. The terms say the final price can include the value of the crypto-asset, network fees and the company's commission (source 8, clause 7.5).

No commission percentage and no fee for EUR payouts are published outside the logged-in platform. The company says it may offer lower commissions and prices after EUR 100,000 of turnover (source 12). To judge the real cost, compare the quote you receive with a public reference rate for the same moment.

Custody

Coins bought on Altcoins.bg stay in a free custodial wallet run by the company. The terms allow client assets to be held on omnibus addresses in the company's name, with separate internal records for each client, and allow the use of sub-custodians (source 8, clauses 13.3 to 13.5). Custody is one of the four licensed services, so it falls under FSC supervision. You can withdraw coins to your own wallet if you prefer to hold the keys yourself; our guide to self-custody wallets explains the trade-offs.

Support and complaints

The contact page lists phone numbers 052 870 109 and 0884 05 45 50, email [email protected] and a chat option (source 11). The platform runs around the clock, while the customer service centre works Monday to Friday 09:00-18:00 and Saturday 10:00-14:00. Complaints go by email or through a complaint form (source 8, clause 16.1). The office is in Varna; we found no office in Sofia. The site is in Bulgarian, with an English version.

Public issues

We searched FSC decisions and reputable press for enforcement actions, fines or court cases involving Altcoins BG EOOD and found none as of 16 September 2026. The FSC records show a licence grant (source 4). We do not repeat allegations from unverified sources.

Who Altcoins.bg suits

  • People who want to buy and hold a broad range of crypto-assets through a provider licensed in Bulgaria.
  • People who prefer to pay in cash through terminals or at an office.
  • Traders who swap between coins and USDC and are comfortable with custodial holding.

It suits less well anyone who needs a published fee percentage before signing up, a bank account in their own name, USD payments, or payouts to a third party.

Alternatives

Other providers with a Bulgarian MiCA licence include Digital Assist OOD, which runs crypto ATMs and is licensed only for exchanging crypto-assets for funds; see our comparison with DigitalAssist. EU providers passported into Bulgaria, such as Bitstamp Europe S.A. from Luxembourg, are another route; see our comparison with Bitstamp. xChange.bg takes a different approach, with EUR and USD accounts in your name and USDC in a self-custody wallet; the full side-by-side is in our comparison with Altcoins.bg.
