Facts checked on
Crypto.com is a crypto app with an exchange, a EUR account and a prepaid card. xChange.bg gives you EUR and USD accounts that settle into stablecoins in your own wallet. Both let someone in Bulgaria pay in euro by SEPA and hold USDC, but they differ on custody, fees, payouts and language. Crypto.com facts below come from its EEA website, EEA help centre, the ESMA register and named press reports, checked on 16 September 2026.
Who each one is for
Crypto.com serves the EEA through two Maltese companies. Foris DAX MT Limited provides the crypto services and was authorised by the Malta Financial Services Authority as a MiCA crypto-asset service provider on 27 January 2025. Foris MT Limited, an MFSA-authorised e-money institution, provides the EUR Cash Account and issues the prepaid Visa card. Bulgaria is in Foris DAX MT's cross-border list in the ESMA register, and Bulgarian residents can open the EUR Account. Crypto.com suits people who want to buy and hold a range of crypto in one app, spend through a prepaid card and are comfortable with the app holding their coins.
xChange.bg is built for money that moves between bank rails and stablecoins. You get a EUR IBAN and USD account details in your own name; money that arrives becomes USDC in a self-custody wallet, and money that leaves goes to any bank. It suits freelancers with clients abroad, companies paying suppliers in USDC and anyone who wants stablecoins in a wallet they control. Global Xchange JSC has run a crypto exchange in Sofia since 2017 and relaunched on stablecoin rails in 2026.
The differences that matter
Custody
Custody is among the services in Foris DAX MT's MiCA authorisation: your crypto sits in the Crypto.com app. Crypto.com notes that cardholders cannot load crypto onto the prepaid card directly; it is converted to fiat first.
xChange.bg uses a self-custody wallet. You hold the keys, the wallet runs on Solana, Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, Polygon and Optimism, and on-chain stablecoin transfers cost the network fee only. Securing access to the wallet is your responsibility.
Account details
Crypto.com says "personal bank transfer details are provided" when you set up the EUR Account. Its help pages do not say whether the IBAN is in the customer's own name or which country code it carries.
xChange.bg gives you a EUR IBAN and USD account details in your own name, through Bridge, a Stripe company. Clients and platforms can pay you in EUR over SEPA or in USD over ACH or wire, which matters if you invoice abroad. See the USD account page.
Getting euro in
Crypto.com charges 0.00% for SEPA deposits to the EUR Account, with a minimum of €20 and a maximum of €1,000,000. Buying crypto with that cash costs 0.80%. Buying by debit or credit card costs up to 4%, and Apple Pay purchases are also listed. The EEA fees page does not state whether a spread applies on top of the 0.80%.
xChange.bg charges 1.5% (minimum €1), all-in with no hidden spread, and your bank transfer lands directly as USDC.
Getting euro out
Crypto.com charges €1.00 per SEPA withdrawal. The minimum withdrawal is €80, the daily limit €100,000 and the monthly limit €500,000. You must first make a successful deposit into the EUR Account before you can withdraw euro. Most withdrawals process within minutes but can take up to 1 business day. The EEA fees page lists no separate fee for selling crypto to cash, so a selling fee is not published there.
xChange.bg charges 1.25% (minimum €2) to send money to any bank in EUR or USD.
Paying other people
Crypto.com's withdrawal flow asks you to choose "your bank account(s)"; payouts to third-party bank accounts are not published. xChange.bg pays suppliers, contractors and partners by bank transfer in EUR or USD at 1.25%, or in USDC to any wallet for the network fee. Transfers between xChange.bg clients are free and instant.
Stablecoins
USDC appears in Crypto.com's EEA fee and limit tables, with deposits on networks including Ethereum, Solana, Arbitrum One, Base, Optimism, Polygon, Avalanche C-Chain and Stellar. CoinDesk reported that Crypto.com suspended purchases of USDT and other stablecoins not compliant with MiCA for European users from 31 January 2025. EURC is not published in the EEA tables. xChange.bg offers USDC.
Regulatory record
De Nederlandsche Bank fined Foris DAX MT Limited €2,850,000 for providing crypto services in the Netherlands without the required registration. According to CoinDesk, the decision dated from October 2023 and was published in March 2024; Crypto.com said it disagreed and was appealing. The outcome of the appeal is not published in the sources we checked.
