Crypto.com review 2026: the app, fees and licences for Bulgaria

Crypto.com combines a crypto app, an exchange, a EUR account and a prepaid Visa card. This review covers what matters to a customer in Bulgaria: which Maltese company provides which service, how euro and crypto move in and out, the fees Crypto.com publishes for the EEA, custody, support and its regulatory record. Facts were checked on 16 September 2026 against Crypto.com's EEA website, its EEA help centre, the ESMA register and named press reports.

Companies and licences

• Foris DAX MT Limited, Malta company registration number C 88392, registered office at Level 7, Spinola Park, St Julian's, trading as Crypto.com. The Malta Financial Services Authority authorised it as a MiCA crypto-asset service provider on 27 January 2025. The ESMA register lists its services as custody, exchange of crypto for funds and for other crypto, execution of orders, reception and transmission of orders, and transfer services, and includes Bulgaria in its cross-border list.
• Foris MT Limited, Malta company registration number C 90348, authorised by the MFSA as a financial institution licensed to issue electronic money. It provides the EUR Cash Account and issues the Crypto.com Prepaid Visa Card.

On 27 February 2026, Crypto.com announced that the MFSA had granted its EU MiCA entity a Limited Financial Institutions licence covering payment services exclusively in relation to e-money tokens. That is a company press release.

A Bulgarian office is not published. The EEA page footer gives the office in St Julian's, Malta.

How buying, selling and withdrawing work

Opening the EUR Account. Crypto.com's help article lists Bulgaria among the countries whose residents can open the EUR Account, and says personal bank transfer details are provided once it is set up. Whether the IBAN is in the customer's own name, and its country code, is not stated.

Adding money. The EEA fee tables cover SEPA bank transfers into the EUR Account, debit and credit card purchases of crypto, and Apple Pay purchases of crypto.

Buying and selling. You buy crypto with cash from the EUR Account, by card, or with Apple Pay, and exchange between crypto assets in the app.

Withdrawing euro. You select which of your bank accounts to withdraw to. Crypto.com says most withdrawals process within minutes but can take up to 1 business day, and that you must first make a successful deposit into the EUR Account before you can withdraw euro.

Stablecoins. USDC appears in the EEA deposit and buy/sell tables, with deposit networks including Ethereum, Cronos, Solana, Arbitrum One, Avalanche C-Chain, Stellar, Optimism, Polygon, Base, zkSync Era, Near, Cronos zkEVM, Sui and Hedera. CoinDesk reported that Crypto.com suspended purchases of USDT and other stablecoins not compliant with MiCA, such as PayPal's PYUSD, for European users from 31 January 2025.

Fees as published

Daily EUR withdrawals are limited to €100,000 and monthly to €500,000. The EEA fees page, dated 19 May 2026, does not state whether a spread applies on top of the 0.80% fee, and lists no separate fee for selling crypto to cash. Crypto withdrawal fees are on a separate page.

Card tiers. Midnight Blue is free. Ruby Steel costs €3.99 a month or €39.90 a year, or a €450 CRO stake for 12 months. Royal Indigo and Jade Green cost €24.99 a month or €249.90 a year, or a €4,500 CRO stake for 12 months. Free ATM withdrawals are €200, €400 or €800 a month by tier. Crypto cannot be loaded onto the card directly; it is converted to fiat first.

Custody

Crypto.com holds your crypto in the app; custody is among the services in Foris DAX MT's MiCA authorisation. To hold coins yourself, you withdraw them to an external wallet.

Support and language

Crypto.com directs customers to live chat in the Crypto.com App or Web and at chat.crypto.com. Support hours are not published on the page we checked. The complaints policy says complaint communication takes place in the language in which the complaint was submitted. The EEA website has an English page for Bulgaria but no Bulgarian language version, and the help centre's language list does not include Bulgarian. Whether Bulgarian-speaking agents are available is not published.

Regulatory actions

• Netherlands, 2023-2024. De Nederlandsche Bank fined Foris DAX MT Limited €2,850,000 for providing crypto services in the Netherlands without the required DNB registration. According to CoinDesk, the decision was dated October 2023 and published in March 2024, and Crypto.com said it disagreed and was appealing. Who Crypto.com suits

Crypto.com fits people in Bulgaria who want a single app to buy a wide list of crypto, hold USDC on many networks and spend through a prepaid Visa card, and who are comfortable with English-language support. The 0.80% cash buy fee and free SEPA deposits keep entry costs low. It fits less well for small or frequent euro withdrawals, given the €80 minimum and €1 fee, or for anyone who wants to pay other people's bank accounts or keep coins in their own wallet by default.
